Mike has been terrific from start to finish! We feel so confident with our new pup because of how he was bred and trained with Mike. He kept us updated during the process and provided info and tips since we have been home. 5 stars!!

We found Mike after doing thorough research on getting the next puppy for our family. Unfortunately one we had before passed away after only a few years. We knew Labradoodles were the perfect way to go and so glad we found Mike! He spoke with us over the phone and in depth while we visited the puppies. He stressed the importance of DNA testing and showed us detailed information on the mom and dad, and we got to meet the parents. We decided on a gorgeous Labradoodle who we named Harry and he’s been a great addition to our family. He gave us food, a crate, toys, leash, collar, microchip etc… We are also still in touch weeks after our purchase as he checks on how Harry is doing and on how potty training is going (which Mike’s given excellent training info). We are already thinking about our next puppy purchase and that it will be with Mike. You can’t go wrong!!

Betty and I have grown an inseparable bond over the years we cherish dearly. Being semi retired and working from home, we share a lot of our time together. She’s independent but always ready and waiting to share her love with us, the wife and I.

An F1 field dog, Betty Loves-to-Run and gets in at least a mile or two a day. Being trained off leash, she has the freedom and discipline to enjoy her walks in the park. Videos added.

Update 10/25/23. Betty is almost 3.5yrs now. Best forever friends! She's a good girl and we'll trained off leash. It took 1.5yrs till she knew it. A lot of time and patience to get there. The free spirit loves to socialize with the pack and their parents. She challenges alpha and plays hard to win.

Our journey to meet you, by chance on the internet, was rife with disappointment and fraud. It had been 12-years since we shopped for a puppy and best-friend Jackson R.I.P, in 2008. When I spoke on the phone with Mike, he listened as I admitted my experience since early May, and aided me in the realization that I would be spending more than planned for a quality dog.

Mike indicated I could find a puppy in my price range, but, the dogs will most likely not be DNA and OFA certified. He went on to explain his quality breeding service and convinced me that I should consider his advice and read through the information in his website, along with his Google reviews, to see what others had to say.

Mike calls to check on the pup. Mike has been breeding dogs for 15-years. The care and knowledge he possesses are vast, freely shared and greatly appreciated. Having had dogs all my life it is reassuring that his calls are of concern for his puppy’s and clients.

Mike is well read and experienced in puppy matters such as; health and safety, nutrition, doggy habits, training, discipline, etc. His breeder skills are top notch and delivers well-bred pups that are healthy and smart.

The “puppy prep sheet” Mike emails you is a good read and suggested reference when bringing a puppy home. The requirement sheet provides valuable and useful info for new puppy’s and owners, and older lifetime owners that may read some good info about quality pup care.

The care that goes into breeding Mike’s pups is proven science and a love for his dogs. His dogs are well cared for with walks and swims in Lake Michigan, and they are fit and trim. The dogs and pups live with him. Duly noted in another review is how clean and odor free his house is. His dogs are trained, very friendly and the puppies are born into a nurturing environment.

Betty is 8-weeks now. She goes to the door to go out, shakes paw, sits and her biting is down to a minimum, except when she’s in mad-dog mode and wants to play hard. She learns fast. She knows her name and is starting to come when called. I have started training, explaining; sit, stay, down, heel, leave it, on the double and no mud. Never too early to start, I believe she may be voice command trained very quickly!

Thanks Mike, A week and a half, and we are best friends. Betty’s personality is fast becoming loyal and trusting. She tries to please us with the skills she is learning, and loves obtaining our praise and kindness! The treats help too.

Our family has been looking for a Labradoodle for about a year. We were highly advised by our vet to make sure the breeder we choose did genetic and orthopedic testing on the parents. Our quest left us with what seemed like little hope. Every breeder we spoke to either said they did no testing or if they claimed they did it, they couldn't produce test results to us, which told us that the testing was never done. When all seemed lost we came across Mikes website and all of his information and videos were AMAZING! We even let our vet look at Mikes website, and they were so impressed that they reached out to Mike to commend him on his OUTSTANDING breeding practices! What can I say? If you're looking for a Labradoodle look no further. Mike is very knowledgeable and transparent. What sets Mike apart from the other breeders is that he does OFA, DNA, & Coefficient of inbreeding (COI) testing. That gives us peace of mind for our puppy's health. Mike does a very good job with socialization. She is good with our children and other pets. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and brought her home that day. Since then she's added so much value to our family.

I am the proud owner of my first Labradoodle "Tootsie". It's been 7 weeks since I adopted her from Mike. She is 1 week shy of 7 months old. She is an F1B pup, Stage 2 trained and everything I hoped for. What sweet dog.

Before adopting Tootsie, I did a lot of research on the internet. Then I sope with Mike at great lengths, and decided Mike knew what he was doing, and cared deeply about his dogs. The in-person conversation only reinforced my research, and slowed me Mike is a first class breeder. Then he provided documentation regarding Tootsie's parents, specifically DNA and OFA testing. Fourteen years ago, we adopted a beautiful golden doodle puppy from what we thought was a reputable breeder based on the reviews we read. Unfortunately, after a couple short years we discovered she had knee issues and required surgery on her back right knee and most likely her back left knee in a couple more years. The surgery was not only very expensive, but it was also a difficult, painful recovery for our poor dog. Had that breeder done DNA and Orthopedic testing on their dogs, they hopefully would not have breed one or both dogs and passed down their genetic defects to our puppy.
When decided to get another dog, we did more research for “good breeders”. We read reviews, looking to see how long they have been breeding dogs, etc. It wasn't until we came across Labrador and Labradoodle Puppies of Chicago that we began to understand the importance of DNA and Orthopedic testing. Most breeders don't even mention it, we just assumed we were getting a high quality, healthy dog because it’s from a breeder. I am so thankful that we came across Labrador and Labradoodle Puppies of Chicago and that Mike was able to teach us the importance of genetic testing. Mike prides himself on breeding healthy, high-quality puppies, which was so important to us given the experience we had with our last dog. Please, don’t get a puppy just based off reviews, take it from us, I wish we knew then what we know now. I did extensive research before selecting a breeder for my new lab puppy. I knew how well recommended Mike was. Even so, he exceeded my expectations. We adopted Kaia, a beautiful Chatcoal lab 3 weeks ago after having Mike do the stage 1 training process with her. He is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and genuinely cares about the puppets. He spent significant time going over her care, and checks in regularly on her. It was a really great experience and we wound up with the most amazing puppy ever! We found Mike after doing a search for labradoodle breeders near Chicago not long after we lost our amazing 15-year-old doodle. We brought home our F2 Labradoodle, Tilly, after Christmas and cannot say enough wonderful things about her. I can assure you the positive reviews Mike receives are real. We looked for a breeder for a while with no luck. Then we found Mike via WGN TV in Chicago. He has always been helpful, informative and responsive. And the love his dogs give him each and every day was all we needed to see to know he was one of the best. We had Mike provide stage 1 training for our fur baby, Bongi, and she couldn’t be any more wonderful. What we appreciated above all is that he continued to check in with us after we brought her home to make sure we got a good start on our lives together. Mike has been fantastic to work with throughout the process of migrating our new puppy Champ into our home and family including our other 6 year old dog. Mike provided great insights through all phases from the birth, during our initial visit, and then at pick up. We picked up our stage 1 trained 16
week old Labradoodle “Bodi” two weeks ago. It’s been two weeks now. Bodi is in a nuts shell, crate trained, potty trained, (unless his parents screw up) and basically the smoothest transition dog I have ever had. Going on 8 dogs in my lifetime. We have had one indoor accident since arrival and It was my fault. Bodi rings a bell when he wants to go outside(our training). We have taken him on an 8 hour ride to PA from Chicago and he has no concerns being in his crate or buckled in to the back seat. We have kept him in his crate 60% of the day and will continue this practice until 6 months of age.( this make separation anxiety a breeze) He is well adjusted to being at peace by himself and has adapted well to our home and family. I can’t say enough about Mike! We have been in constant contact about the genetics reports on Bodi’s mom and dad, feeding recommendations and just about everything else. Mike is a very available and totally invested person when it comes to the future of his dog’s forever home family. If I have a question….Mike is willing and excited to reply promptly every time.
I was close to giving up on having a dog because of the shedding and allergies that would be an issue in my home.
I investigated the labradoodle breed because of the non shedding/hypoallergenic factor. While searching, I found Mike’s site. Everything just fell I to place from that moment.

We have an entire immediate and extended family that has fallen in love with Bodi! 9 cousins absolutely didn’t want us to leave PA this thanksgiving.

My parents are on deck to get a stage 1 trained pup from Mike as they are also a huge fan of a non shedding and not have to wake up every 2 hours every night to walk the babies.

Bodi’s demeanor is cool and isn’t overbearing unless on walks and then he wants to kill every blowing leaf he sees. He’s a puppy! It cute. He sits, waits, comes, lays down and did I mention in a week, he learned to ring a bell when he needs to pee?!?!

We are over the moon with the stage 1 labradoodle decision from a guy who has 17 of his own dogs at his house and celebrates birthdays and thanksgiving with all of his own labs and doodles!

Wonderful experience from the start. We brought home a 4 month old labradoodle from Mike. He had already crate trained him as well as some basic training including sitting, using stairs, and leash walking. It was wonderful to have our fur baby sleep through the night happily in his crate from the start. Mike gave great instructions on what to do when we got home and followed up multiple times. When our family was ready to adopt a puppy, we were incredibly lucky to have found Mike! From the first conversation on the phone, to meeting our labradoodle puppy, Burfi, to preparing us for starting off on the journey as first-time dog owners, to checking in and always being available to answer our questions, Mike has been phenomenal!

His records for Burfi were meticulous, and his instructions on how to deal with the early days with a new puppy have been on point. Mike has tirelessly checked in on us - he genuinely cares for Burfi and for us to have the best possible bonding experience with our new love and family member!

We are so happy and fortunate to have found Mike at Labrador and Labradoodle Puppies Chicago. I came across the website by searching for labradoodles near Chicago. I wanted to purchase our pet locally to avoid the hours long drive to an unknown farm in the middle of no where. Mike was easy to get a hold of and very knowledgeable. He took plenty of time to answer our questions and I appreciated that he was interested in our family too and wanted to make sure one of his pups was going to a good home. We were able to pick the pup we wanted after she was a few weeks old. She was too young to come home with us, but Mike sent us weekly pictures so we could see how much she was growing. Update…about 6 years after adopting, we decided our family was ready to add another dog to the mix. After having such a great experience, we decided to reach out to Mike again. We found a perfect fit for our family in adopting Ruby, a trained puppy. She was already crate trained and able to walk on the leash. She even sleeps through the night. Mike allowed us to bring our dog over to play with Ruby for awhile to make sure they got along. Could not have been an easier process. For anyone looking for a puppy or a trained puppy, I highly recommend!

Mike was very thorough with giving us tons of information about how to take care of our mini labradoodle puppy. He gave us enough food for her for a week and advised us about what to buy from the pet store. He had all her records and information about her parents in a folder for us to take home. And he let us meet the puppy’s parents. He texted every few days checking on us. He has an amazing playground for the big dogs and takes great care of these dogs. Highly recommend Mike Martinez and his puppies!

Great experience adding a new family member, Weller. Mike was very helpful before, during and after. From explaining the genetics testing, the quality and traits we should look for, and training tips. He was great the whole time. Mike was also able to train Weller for a few weeks before we brought him home. Weller, while full of life and endless energy, has a demeanor we all hoped for. It’s also great to know Mike is there as a resource and since we are local, a place to take Weller when we go on trips the little man cannot come with for. All in all a great experience. Highly recommend.

I haven't had a puppy in 15 years. Mike made the experience smooth and easy. We live 8 hours away, he sent me regular update photos and answered all of my questions before and weeks after we brought our little Finley home. Mikes home where he breeds his puppies was nice, clean and organized. It looks like his dogs have a great life and a great place to live. I feel confident that he is a responsible breeder and cares very much where his pups end up at. He was very transparent about the mother and father and had copies of all their health paper work in the puppy folder he provided. He gave us a how to raise the perfect puppy book, which was very informative. Finley has been a lovely, little puppy. She's an F1 labradoodle, she's adorable, smart, and very well natured. 2024 UPDATE:
Finley is 2 years old now. What a great dog she has turned out to be. We tried to train her properly, but I also feel like she's naturally a quick learner, eager to please, and quite intelligent. I've had a few questions for Mike along the way and even after owning Finley for almost two years, Mike is still friendly and quick to respond. He's part of the family now too. I highly recommend reading the puppy training book he provides, I tried new things from the book, and the tips worked, like training them not to bark all the time. The steps are simple, but consistency and patience are key. Also, exercise, exercise, exercise. Mike is right when he says it's the most important thing to have a well behaved, happy dog. We couldn't be happier with our pup that we purchased from Mike. He's an excellent breeder and like I said before, he truly cares about all of his dogs and the puppies he sells.
