Great experience with Mike! We love our guy!

We cannot share enough amazing comments about our experience with Mike! When we were looking to bring in a hypoallergenic dog to our home, we were immediately guided to Labrador and Labradoodle Puppies Chicago. After we immediately fell in love with our little Alina as a newborn, we were astonished by the amount of education and caring Mike was providing; not only to the puppies but us as well! We ultimately pursued having Mike conduct stage one training with Alina and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Not only did Alina receive top-tier training, but the fact that we as a family were also involved in the training speaks to Mike’s commitment to the entirety of the process. Mike remains diligent in checking in on us as a family ensuring our questions are answered and that Alina is doing well. This is more than a business; it’s an extended family! When our family was ready to adopt a puppy, we were incredibly lucky to have found Mike! From the first conversation on the phone, to meeting our labradoodle puppy, Burfi, to preparing us for starting off on the journey as first-time dog owners, to checking in and always being available to answer our questions, Mike has been phenomenal!My sons, husband and I will never forget the wonderful first meeting that Mike facilitated at his beautiful facility, full of happy dogs, where we met Burfi and his parents for the first time. Mike is very, very thorough in his approach, both in terms of the paperwork and health records for the puppies, as well as the preparatory instructions for soon-to-be dog owners! He is extremely knowledgeable about his profession, is very transparent about the health screens for his puppies and their parents, and also very transparent and helpful on what to expect with the puppies as they transition into their new home and grow. His records for Burfi were meticulous, and his instructions on how to deal with the early days with a new puppy have been on point. Mike has tirelessly checked in on us - he genuinely cares for Burfi and for us to have the best possible bonding experience with our new love and family member!

We are so happy and fortunate to have found Mike at Labrador and Labradoodle Puppies Chicago. I came across the website by searching for labradoodles near Chicago. I wanted to purchase our pet locally to avoid the hours long drive to an unknown farm in the middle of no where. Mike was easy to get a hold of and very knowledgeable. He took plenty of time to answer our questions and I appreciated that he was interested in our family too and wanted to make sure one of his pups was going to a good home. We were able to pick the pup we wanted after she was a few weeks old. She was too young to come home with us, but Mike sent us weekly pictures so we could see how much she was growing. She’s been home with us for a week and we are already attached to our new family member. She’s a fun puppy and I know she’s going to be a great fit for our active family. Thanks Mike!Update…about 6 years after adopting, we decided our family was ready to add another dog to the mix. After having such a great experience, we decided to reach out to Mike again. We found a perfect fit for our family in adopting Ruby, a trained puppy. She was already crate trained and able to walk on the leash. She even sleeps through the night. Mike allowed us to bring our dog over to play with Ruby for awhile to make sure they got along. Could not have been an easier process. For anyone looking for a puppy or a trained puppy, I highly recommend!

Mike was very thorough with giving us tons of information about how to take care of our mini labradoodle puppy. He gave us enough food for her for a week and advised us about what to buy from the pet store. He had all her records and information about her parents in a folder for us to take home. And he let us meet the puppy’s parents. He texted every few days checking on us. He has an amazing playground for the big dogs and takes great care of these dogs. Highly recommend Mike Martinez and his puppies!

Great experience adding a new family member, Weller. Mike was very helpful before, during and after. From explaining the genetics testing, the quality and traits we should look for, and training tips. He was great the whole time. Mike was also able to train Weller for a few weeks before we brought him home. Weller, while full of life and endless energy, has a demeanor we all hoped for. It’s also great to know Mike is there as a resource and since we are local, a place to take Weller when we go on trips the little man cannot come with for. All in all a great experience. Highly recommend.

I haven't had a puppy in 15 years. Mike made the experience smooth and easy. We live 8 hours away, he sent me regular update photos and answered all of my questions before and weeks after we brought our little Finley home. Mikes home where he breeds his puppies was nice, clean and organized. It looks like his dogs have a great life and a great place to live. I feel confident that he is a responsible breeder and cares very much where his pups end up at. He was very transparent about the mother and father and had copies of all their health paper work in the puppy folder he provided. He gave us a how to raise the perfect puppy book, which was very informative. Finley has been a lovely, little puppy. She's an F1 labradoodle, she's adorable, smart, and very well natured. We take her everywhere and she does great. If you're serious about giving a dog a good home, Mike is the breeder to go with. Thanks Mike for bringing Finley into our home. She's a cherished addition. ❤️2024 UPDATE:Finley is 2 years old now. What a great dog she has turned out to be. We tried to train her properly, but I also feel like she's naturally a quick learner, eager to please, and quite intelligent. I've had a few questions for Mike along the way and even after owning Finley for almost two years, Mike is still friendly and quick to respond. He's part of the family now too. I highly recommend reading the puppy training book he provides, I tried new things from the book, and the tips worked, like training them not to bark all the time. The steps are simple, but consistency and patience are key. Also, exercise, exercise, exercise. Mike is right when he says it's the most important thing to have a well behaved, happy dog. We couldn't be happier with our pup that we purchased from Mike. He's an excellent breeder and like I said before, he truly cares about all of his dogs and the puppies he sells.

We adopted our silver lab, Corey, from Mike at Labrador and Labradoodle Puppies Chicago in mid July. Mike inspired a lot of confidence in me because he is very meticulous and careful about finding his puppies great homes. His communication is top notch and he is always checking in and available to answer questions.As for Corey, our pup, there aren’t enough words to explain how much we love this little guy! He is the perfect mix of silly puppy antics that crack up the entire family and a gentle demeanor. Somehow, he just knows not to nibble on our kiddos. He is also super smart! I work with him for a very short time each day, and he already knows how to do many commands/tricks. Overall, I am over the moon with my experience with Labrador and Labradoodle Puppies Chicago. We bought our silver lab, Gunner from Mike and decided to let him do stage one training with him before bringing him home. Mike has been fabulous to work with. His communication during the training is amazing. He sends regular emails, pictures and videos with updates and has you visit the puppy every couple weeks and spends time teaching you what they have been working on. The training was amazing. When we brought Gunner home at 13 weeks he was leash trained, crate trained and almost fully potty trained. We have a very well behaved, obedient puppy because of the training. His property is amazing and clean. He has a very nice fenced in yard and play area for the puppies. You can tell how much he loves what he does and cares about all of the puppies. He continues to check in once you bring the puppy home and is available to answer any questions. If you are looking to welcome a lab, labradoodle or golden doodle into your family run don’t walk to get the puppy from Mike!

We researched Charcoal/silver labradors for a long time. The internet is filled with misinformation that tell you these dogs are unhealthy. After finding Mike Martinez we found actual scientific based research that shows his breeds are healthy and happy with a long 5 star history! My vet also looked at the extensive genetic testing that came with our dog and was very surprised. We couldn’t be happier with our dog Gunner!

The color of a dog has nothing to do with it's health- and only a full panel DNA test through Embark can test for over 200 genetic conditions. We are so in Love with our newest Fur-Baby, Cooper!Mike, the breeder, was absolutely amazing to work with! He was so friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, informative and kind! From the moment we started to email back and forth, to us meeting our labradoodle, Mike made us feel like we were part of the “family”. My two little boys loved this whole experience!Mike truly cares about each one of his pups/dogs and it shows! He has a beautiful indoor barn-like area (it’s heated and air conditioned) for the pups as well as lots of land for them to roam around and enjoy! Mike also does a full extensive genetic DNA testing on each dog and you will receive the full detailed report. Mike knows each one of his dogs personalities and matched us with the perfect pup!One amazing thing Mike did was check in later that evening, after bringing home Cooper. He checked in again a few days later and even a couple weeks later. Since taking Cooper home, we had a few questions over these past few weeks and Mike very quickly responded. He has been so helpful and informative, which has made the transition for Cooper and us much easier.I think one of my favorite parts of this experience ,aside from actually taking home our fur-boy, is how Mike took a “new” family photo and made it special.What a wonderful experience this was and would highly recommend checking it out!Thank You Mike!

We have adopted two labradoodles from Mike in the last 5 years and cannot speak highly enough of how wonderful not only the puppies are but how much care Mike takes to ensure a smooth adoption process. We had a wonderful experience adopting our mini labradoodle from Chicago Area Labs. What initially attracted us to adopting a puppy through Chicago Area Labs was the extensive genetic testing and the additional services available. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, taking the time to answer all of the questions we had. As first time puppy owners, we were a little nervous as our family had a lot to learn about taking care of a new puppy, but Mike has gone above and beyond to support us through our first few months.We would recommend adopting from Chicago Area Labs as Mike has the background on all of his puppies. He even provides training and daycare if needed. It has been such a wonderful experience for us.

One the best experiences I've had while looking into getting a puppy. Mike does every test under the sun before you choose your next best friend. He's super knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He facilities are clean and professionally done. He provides an excellent service and it doesn't end with the sale of the puppy. He'll continue to check in on you and the dog to see how you're coming along. He provides you with everything you'll need to know, on how to provide for your new addition. He goes above and beyond what most other breeders are willing to do and provide. I was recommended to him by my older sister and brother in-law and I will recommend to any of my friends and family. I am super happy with my Lil guy Hershey, he's the perfect fit and has the best disposition. Mike does an excellent job of getting his puppies ready to go to their forever home. 10/10

Labrador and Labradoodle Puppies Chicago is a top quality breeder of these dogs. The owner, Mike, is super knowledgeable about the dogs he sells and their genetic health. He runs his business in a friendly and efficient manner, putting you at ease at every step along the way. He gets involved with his customers, so that you feel at home with him on the phone or in person. He wants to get to know who is buying his puppies so that they can be brought into good homes. When you visit him at his Mundelein location, he makes you feel comfortable while he shows you the scope of his operation, which is amazing. He runs a clean, well maintained facility where his dogs can have both quality outside experiences and inside living just like a family home, not a kennel. He takes pride in all his dogs and assures you that this is a caring environment. Even after the buying of the pup and taking her home our relationship with Mike did not end. He calls our house regularly to check up on the puppy and to see if we have any questions. He also encourages us to reach out to him if we have any questions about our new dog.Overall, I cannot imagine a breeder more competent and caring. I've head things like "my vet said it isn't necessary because a Labadoodle is a mixed breed dog- and orthopedic testing isn't accurate.. These are downright LIES that breeders who only care about making money- tell those who contact them. It's so sad that people can have absolutely no moral compass about the quality of the puppies they bring into the world. We lost our female chocolate lab that we rescued earlier this year and wanted the same dog again so we began looking at breeders. We came across Mike and talked on the phone with him and we knew this was someone we could trust. We put down our deposit in hopes that Xena would have our chocolate female & she did, mike kept us posted along the way from when she was born to a few weeks old & when we could visit her. His property is great as well as all the dogs he has there. We love our little girl, shes a well behaved puppy who is only 10 weeks old and already knows how to sit & is easy to crate train. We grew a bond with Mike after getting one of his pups and he still reaches out to see how everything is going with her. If you want a dog with good genes from a reputable breeder then he is the one to go to!He also offers a lot more than just selling you a dog. I wont be going anywhere else for another lab

Mike goes above and beyond. He is one of the only breeders that does full transparency. He does a full spectrum DNA test by Embark that test for over 180 health conditions. He's not one of those breeders that claims their dogs are health tested but bought a cheap test and tested for 1 or 2 conditions. He gives you the certificates that prove his dogs do not suffer from hip dysplasia. He goes through everything about his dogs with you. There is no fancy marketing, just hard work to breed healthy dogs.

We had a wonderful experience with Mike at Chicago Area Labradors and Labradoodles. As first time dog owners we didn't have a lot of knowledge about Labradors or how to care for a puppy. Mike provided us with resources and a full genetic background including hip and elbow certification. He explained everything we needed to know, and even checked in with us the first weeks we brought our chocolate lab home. You can tell Mike is passionate about breeding and training dogs and has a wonderful facility. I would definitely recommend this breeder to anyone looking for a Labrador Retriever or a labradoodle.

I traveled from North Dakota to get our pup from Mike. When I contacted him with questions about the pups he had posted on his website he answered me in a timely fashion and was super helpful and friendly.Mike is very knowledgeable and sent me home with everything I needed to know about how to care for our new family member.The day I picked up our new puppy he was fresh and clean and you can tell he was very well taken care of. The establishment was very clean and all the dogs there were in great condition, very well taken care of. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a Labradoodle.

We recently adopted a dog from Mike and couldn’t be happier with our experience. With three children and an existing dog, we were looking for a calm companion to round out our family. Mike is amazing. I found his website and was immediately impressed with him. He cares so much for his dogs and explains in thorough detail about the importance of genetic testing. I loved that he wanted to spend time getting to know our family to make sure his dog was going to a good home!We fell in love with 6-month, Stage 2 trained, Bear. We call him Teddy Bear because he is so loveable and laid back. He gets along great with our other labradoodle and fits in perfect with our family. Mike has done a great job training him. We adopted an 8-month old Black Lab, Annie, from Mike about a month ago. She is such a beautiful, healthy and well behaved puppy. He had already started training and socializing her so we were fortunate to not have to do some of the beginning crate training and socialization on our own. Mike spent so much time with us educating us on the importance of DNA testing and put us at ease that we were investing in a very healthy pup. He checks in on us periodically to make sure that Annie is doing well. She has adjusted so well with our family and I would recommend Mike to anyone who is serious about adding a Labrador or Labradoodle to their family! He was just featured on a WGN segment which shows how passionate he is about being a top breeder!

After a great experience with our medium labradoodle (Quinn) from Mike, we knew our next puppy would come from him. We picked up Toby, our mini labradoodle, in March. He quickly adjusted to our home and enjoys time with Quinn. Mike remains in contact, making sure our transition goes smooth. Mike is the best there is. We got SO LUCKY finding him after years of considering a labradoodle and finally looking into where to go. He is a guru with care guidelines for the dogs, is super responsive and the dogs are incredible. I’m so glad we found Ozzy and Mike. We recently got a 7 month old Stage 3 Chocolate Lab puppy from Mike. He was very accommodating of my schedule and did a great job raising this puppy. He's not in this business just for the money. The genetic testing he does is far beyond what I've seen anyone else do and I went home with vaccination records and instructions to help me get started with my pup. My experience far exceeded the experience of my friends with other breeders. This guy is the real deal.

We recently had “Arlo” join our family. He’s a 7 month stage two trained labradoodle puppy. He is so well mannered, calm yet playful. Loves to have you love him. I, having Parkinson’s disease, concerned my husband and myself. We know we needed a well trained puppy. We’ve had a labradoodle who passed so we know we loved the breed. I just wanted to send Mike a shout out for his dog sitting services. Yes, he is super knowledgeable, helpful, passionate and genuinely cares as a breeder. But also he is my number ONE option when we travel and does a fantastic job. Mike treats our dog Harry like one of his own (has even given care when Harry wasn’t feeling well) and the dog is genuinely excited to go. Harry lives a dream life when he’s there. A ton of space to roam with a bunch of furry friends. And every time we bring him back home, he’s better behaved as it’s clear Mike works with him by second nature. We absolutely love love love our boy Noah! And we can’t be happier that we found Mike & Chicago Area Labrador and Labradoodles!
