Mike is a “buy the book” breeder. He will share everything you need to know including all DNA testing, lineage, etc. He was also easy to work with as he agreed to train a separate puppy (we got a mini poodle at the same time) for us with our Labradoodle. We are very happy with our new family members and would recommend Mike for anyone looking for Labrador or Labradoodle.

Working with Mike was easy and professional. Mike went above and beyond with his communications with me when I was adopting an older, stage 2 puppy. Mike answered all of my questions promptly…and I had a ton! He never rushed me. He was very supportive the week we brought our puppy home. We brought home one of Mike’s F1 Stage 1 labradoodles for Christmas. Roxy came to us with basic commands and potty trained, and best of all - sleeping through the night! She has the most gentle demeanor. She loves to cuddle with everyone in the family and became quick best friends with our 4 year old Alaskan malamute. Mike sent us home with a great packet of information but he’s extremely responsive to texts for quick questions. He regularly checks in to see how she’s doing. This has been the best dog purchaser our family has made - Mike breeds amazing dogs and is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful everything lab/labradoodles.

My husband and I recently adopted a F1 labradoodle from Mike. We have had Ivy for almost 2 months now and can’t say enough good things about her and our experience with Mike. Ivy is incredibly sweet and calm, & overall, such an easy puppy. She is quite shy/cautious and Mike has given us suggestions and checked in with us often to see how she is doing. Ivy continues to open up and become more confident each day. We love her so much and are so grateful we found Mike & his pups. If you are looking to add a lab or labradoodle to your family we would highly recommend talking with Mike and visiting his beautiful facility and his other dogs.

Can't be more pleased with our puppy Lucy. She is everything Mike M. said she was. Smart, lots of energy, easy (relatively as she is a puppy) to train and just loads of fun. Mike is always available for great advice. What type of harness to use to stop pulling, where to take her for grooming etc.

I was looking to own a puppy for some time and did lot of research and finally came to Mike's website and it struck me. I called him and he was very professional from the first call, I love the labradoodle puppy I got, she is so adorable and full of energy. Mike helped me buy the puppy essentials the day I bought the puppy, he is very thorough and very considerate given the fact that I am a first time dog owner. He showed me both parents of my puppy, both them looked very healthy, friendly and well taken care of.After I purchased the puppy Mike was in constant touch with me and helping with the puppy blues period. We are so happy with our new puppy. Mike could not have made the process any easier. He was very responsive, professional, and made the entire process seamless. When we picked up the little fella, he played along while I surprised my daughter - priceless. Then, he took his time explaining his pedigree, what to feed him, tips for training, etc. Afterwards, he got to run around and play with his parents along with some photos to commemorate the day. Highly, highly, highly (yep, that's three highly's) recommend!

I haven't had a puppy in 15 years. Mike made the experience smooth and easy. We live 8 hours away, he sent me regular update photos and answered all of my questions before and weeks after we brought our little Finley home. Mikes home where he breeds his puppies was nice, clean and organized. It looks like his dogs have a great life and a great place to live. I feel confident that he is a responsible breeder and cares very much where his pups end up at. He was very transparent about the mother and father and had copies of all their health paper work in the puppy folder he provided. He gave us a how to raise the perfect puppy book, which was very informative. Finley has been a lovely, little puppy. She's an F1 labradoodle, she's adorable, smart, and very well natured. We take her everywhere and she does great. If you're serious about giving a dog a good home, Mike is the breeder to go with. Thanks Mike for bringing Finley into our home. My experience was great from the start. I called Mike about a chocolate lab female, he had one but it was already reserved. I just thought I’d wait and watch the website for the next litter, but Mike was proactive and reached out to me when the next litter with a chocolate lab was born! He provided lots of tips and information for raising a puppy. If you know anything about puppies, all the biting and jumping and energy is no lie, but Mike checked in during the first few weeks after we took her home and continued to support us and be engaged. Maple is a healthy, beautiful, adorable dog!

I originally contacted Mike about a Labrador puppy because he was one of the few that guaranteed against health defects and did all kinds genetic testing -- and, more importantly, was willing to back it up with the actual paperwork.And it's legit! When I showed the test reports to my vet he said that Embark was one of the best genetic testing companies for dogs. Great to hear! Holly, our new puppy, and her parents were free from all genetic defects (paperwork was also given for dog parents).Mike also provided a large and impressive information packet + training book to go along with the new puppy. The information packet included several pages of tips on how to raise a new puppy and what to buy (and, more importantly, what NOT to buy) -- all very useful to new dog owners.In addition to all the written tips, he is very knowledgeable on whatever other dog questions we had.Plus, Mike checked up on us and the puppy several times after we took her home.We have no problems with our new puppy -- she's full of energy, mischief, and loves every person and every dog she meets.Although the cost might be high (but well worth it long term), anyone looking for a Lab should seriously consider Mike and his dogs.

What a great experience from start through today. We met our little guy at Mike’s a week before we took him home. Mike was professional and honest about puppy needs and care from the get go. We spent the next week prepping for Beau. We brought Beau home with all necessary paperwork and medical/chip information. Mike even gave Beau a bath prior to us arriving! Beau is awesome. He is a great little guy with an incredible temperament. Of course he is a puppy and there have been learnings, but what a great puppy. Thank you Mike. You have made our family complete.

We have had Bruno for a week now. We are so in love with this pup. He is smart. Crate trained already and is sleeping through the night for the last several days. Mike, the breeder, told us what we needed and how we should handle our wonderful chocolate lab. I am hoping to teach him to be a service dog for my husband who has Parkinson’s. I’m sure Bruno will become one. If not he is our Super Dog. He is my therapy pup. Thank you Mike for allowing us to bring him home. PS. Bruno is already walking around our neighborhood on his leash. We were looking to find another dog after our beloved standard poodle Luke passed away. We wanted either another standard or a doodle who was mostly poodle. We purchased our F2 labradoodle Leia from Mike a few weeks ago and she has been a joy, even accounting for the challenges of raising an active puppy. Mike was very helpful explaining the various labradoodle crosses (F1, F1b, and F2), and was obviously very knowledgeable and caring about his dogs. Even my vet was impressed with the thorough documentation that he provided and commented "you've got a good one".

We got an F1 chocolate labradoodle from Mike back in March. Mike was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the facilities and answered all the questions we had, being new dog owners. What we most appreciate is the fact that he constantly reaches out and asks about the well-being of Darcy and if we have any follow up questions, what an excellent customer service !! As for the process, it was super easy. This is our 4th dog… I’ve learned the value of a great breeder and Mike is one of the best. We all want our dogs to be as healthy and we’ll adjusted as possible. My vet was blown away that Mike tests his own litters and even said, “who is this breeder?” She said labradoodles are the healthiest, so her input validated our decision on a labradoodle. We got Chester from Lexi/Max liter from Feb 2022. Meeting max, Lexie and all the dogs was important to us and visiting was welcomed.Mike is wonderful for first time and experienced dog owners. We recently got our F1 labradoodle from Mike. We were impressed by how healthy, confident and intelligent our puppy was when we took him home. It was obvious he was well taken care of before we got him. Our pup has grown quickly (12 weeks now) and we love his affectionate, active and goofy personality. Working with Mike was very easy. Fourteen months ago, we adopted Fenway, an F1 labradoodle, from Mike. Fenway is amazing – he’s sweet, playful and super smart. In fact, Fenway’s trainers told us that most labradoodles they work with have difficult personalities; they were so impressed with Fenway’s temperament that they asked for the name of our breeder! And, so began our relationship with Mike. Mike is so dedicated and conscientious, and we have kept in touch with him sending updates and photos. In one of our Fenway updates, we learned about another labradoodle puppy from Jade and Max (Fenway’s parents too!) that was looking for a new home. It took our family about five minutes to decide to adopt another Chicago Lab doodle! Luna is incredible! She is gentle, sweet and even smarter than Fenway! We can’t believe that we hit the dog lottery again! Luna has stolen our hearts!

We purchased a f1 chocolate labor-doodle from mike about 3 weeks ago. The process was very smooth and super easy. Mike was very nice and knowledgeable on his pups. The place was very clean and well put together. We even got to meet the parents of the pups . After the first week our pup learned her name come sit and lay down. The second week she learned how to give paw and spin. She is super smart, great personality and loves to cuddle. I would highly recommend going and seeing mike for a pup

We have had our beautiful black lab, Izzy, for a week. She is a super smart girl. Izzy sleeps so well in her crate and is doing a great job with potty training! She has already learned "sit"! From start to finish, the whole process of getting a puppy was informative and amazing thanks to Mike.I grew up with dogs my whole life and I wanted my own children to experience that too. He sent photos of her, he explained her disposition, and everything in between to calm my nerves, and get me excited to surprise my children. His detailed puppy check list helped prepare for Gidget and I could not be more happy with our experience overall. Adding a second dog to our family wasn’t a decision we took lightly and did our research. Finding a reputable breeder with detailed genetic history and someone that cares about their dogs was paramount. We picked up Leo the second week of January and Mike has been fantastic from the first phone conversation to the first meeting and beyond. He’s checked on us and Leo every step of the way. When meeting our dog for the first time, it's clear that he is well taken care of from the breeder. The process was smooth and when our dog came home, although the breeder supplied us with a folder with helpful information, we text him questions and he answers right away. I found Mike when I had a general question about Labradoodle's. I emailed him my question and he got back to me very quickly. I then took a deeper dive on his site, where we found our F1 Black Labradoodle, Banks. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and truly cares for the animals. He has reached out multiple times since bringing Banks home to check in on him - this shows how much he cares about the dogs. Mike's site is full of knowledge and we were happy to learn more from him. Mike has been a great resource to us and we are happy we got Banks from a breeder that truly cares!

We adopted our Charlie Grace from Mike a few months ago and we have been busy training her ever since. She is so smart and observant and she loves following our Lab’s good habits! She is intuitive and chill and playful all at the same time. She even poses like a show dog at times, and the vet even asked if her parents were show dogs.Mike was great through this whole process. He was so helpful in the beginning providing a training lead, a puppy book, dog food and advice that has been very helpful! Mike also provided DNA reports on Charlie’s parents and sibling. We have had labs for 20 years, but we needed a hypoallergenic dog this time and Mike was awesome as we tried to pick an appropriate dog for our family. That is why we got Charlie from him. Mike raises sweet, smart puppies, and I cannot imagine bringing home a better labradoodle than I did from Mike! He takes great pride in his puppies and adult dogs and genuinely cares about the well-being of each one. Mike is very knowledgeable and makes himself available at any time for questions. All the questions we had before purchase to seeing how well maintained and cared for all his dogs and puppies are, you can see this is a true passion for him. We got our F1b Labradoodle, Riley, almost two weeks ago and absolutely love her! She is as smart as a whip and so sweet. She has been a welcomed addition to our family and has definitely kept us on our toes! She is the life our family needed after having to put down our previous dog of 17 years.With that being said, obviously, it has been a while since we had a puppy in our house but Riley is AMAZING! We have said since day one of getting her that she was loved and cared for before we adopted her and we are just continuing with that same love and attention that she was used to receiving from Mike. Riley has such a good nature about her and has transitioned to her new home with us without any issues. She is doing well with her training and is eager to learn. We have been using and reading the book, Training the Best Dog Ever, that Mike gave us and it is truly working! We have also taken her to her first vet appointment and they were impressed that she had already been started on her vaccines and that we had the documentation with us, as well as microchipped. They also agreed with his choice of food and were glad that he had stressed to stay away from grain-free food.All of this to say, we would highly recommend Mike and his pups! The whole process was easy and communication was great! Mike is extremely knowledgeable about his dogs and genuinely cares about them, which makes him a wonderful breeder. He still checks in on Riley and I would not hesitate to call him if I had a question or concern because I know at the end of the day, he truly wants his pups to be healthy and happy.

I feel very lucky to have found Mike and adopt one of his pups. He was not only great about answering all my questions before my purchase. Since picking up my labrador puppy in early September, Mike continues to answer questions and has stayed in touch on a regular basis to see how Maya is doing. Honestly, I couldn't be happier. My 4 month old is happy and healthy, friendly and eager to learn. When it comes time to add another fur baby to our home I will not hesitate to contact Mike.

Prior to finding Mike and the Chicago Area Labradors and Labradoodles we experienced the devastating loss of our 1 year old puppy. Needless to say I was hyper vigilant when it came time to find a reputable breeder that cared about the animals, focused on genetics and solid breeding practices. Mike is that guy. Mike provided genetic testing results for both the Sire and Dam, and we got to meet both parents. We asked a million questions and Mike patiently provided answers and suggestions on everything from food to training. Yesterday was our girls 10 week check up with the Vet and we got a clean bill of health. Our vet was impressed with the amount of information Mike provided to us and the vaccine record he provided. If we ever add to our pack, Mike will be our only stop.

I picked up my adorable chocolate F1 labradoodle who I named Coco on 10.8.21. She is 3 months old now and such a beauty and so lovable. Coco was obviously loved and well taken care of before she came to me. She is such a happy pup and I can't wait to see her grow up! She's very intelligent and easy to train, she wants to please! Mike was very responsive, he gave me a lot of useful information, he followed up a number of times to see how Coco is adjusting to her new home. It's obvious that Mike cares deeply about his animals and wants to make sure they go to loving homes. Everything about the experience was very positive. I highly recommend Mike and his beautiful pups!

My husband and I just recently bought a puppy off of Mike. We were traveling to Chicago from Nevada and just so happen to search for Labradoodles and Mike's website came up. My husband and I have been looking for a puppy for sometime now but have been waiting to get one due to traveling until the end of the year. When we saw Mike's website and the reviews on him and his puppies we could not resist to call him to get more information.Mike was very responsive and was very helpful with all the questions we had on taking a puppy home to the West coast. We asked Mike to see two puppies the next day after finding him and his website and he was able to accommodate us. We showed up to his office and the puppies were clean and very loving. We fell in love with a little black and white F2 the moment he let them out of the kennel. She had and still has such a personality on her and know Mike gave her love and attention before we got her.Mike knew we were super nervous on getting a puppy and traveling with a her across the United States. He made us feel so calm and actually provided us with days worth of food. He was compassionate and professional. He actually gave us a copy of his favorite puppy training book that my husband has been reading and teaching her some tricks.After we brought her home we have had multiple questions on the puppy that we knew Mike could answer. Us now being in a different time zone he has responded within minutes and has always had the answers for us.Our puppy, Truckee Marie Metzker, is such a good girl and is very loved by her new mommy and daddy. We would highly recommend Mike to EVERYONE. He is such a good guy and takes very good care of ALL his liters and maybe one day we will go back and get miss Truckee a friend!

Almost 4 weeks home with us now, and our pup still smells so gooood! He has such a beautiful and soft coat of fur. He’s smart, playful, and sociable. He is fun loving and overall, a happy puppy. At about 11-week old, he has learned to ring the potty bell when he wants to go potty. Thanks Mike for giving us such a wonderful addition to our family.

We got our black lab puppy almost 2 months ago and he is just the best pup ever. Puppies are a lot of work but Booker is worth it along with every cent spent on him and every hour of sleep lost to his little bladder. Mike was great with giving us instructions and print outs for all our basic puppy questions before we got him. And since bringing Booker home, Mike has stayed in contact inquiring about how everything is going. I would 100% go to him again if we decide to get another dog down the line! Our pup is full of energy, well behaved, and loves us to death. He’s also great w kids and is my 6yr old’s best friend! We couldn’t love him more.

As my first time getting a puppy I was nervous and unsure if I should. But when talking to Mike and meeting Mikes pups and dogs I was eager and ready to bring one home. Very responsive to texts and is always willing to answer whatever questions you have. I brought home a chocolate labrador puppy and will make sure to take care of him and ask Mike any questions I might have.

Our experience with Mike has been amazing and we truly cannot say enough good things about him and his dogs! He has been thorough, patient, and kind with us every step of the way and answered all of our questions as (nervous!) first time dog owners. Our 3 month old black lab Cleo is an incredible dog - intelligent, loving, and curious - and we could not be happier with her. She often learns new commands with the space of a few hours and is outgoing and friendly with everyone. As we worked through sleep schedules, crate training, and feeding Mike was available by text to answer all our questions, give advice, and explain things. His facility is absolutely stunning and we were able to meet Cleo's parents who were wonderful dogs that were obviously very happy and well loved. We got our F2 Labradoodle in July and have been in love with her ever since! (ok, maybe even BEFORE we got her) She is sweet, well-tempered and extremely smart. Mike was nothing short of amazing through the whole process. He gave us constant information as soon as we got on the waiting list. He sent info ahead of time regarding what supplies we needed to bring her home, how to house-train her and other tips for training, behavior, and general puppy care. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish and Mike still follows up to check on our puppy. From the beginning, I was impressed with how much he cares about his dogs/puppies. We can’t say enough about how happy we are with our decision to get a puppy from Mike. Our almost 4 month F1 Labradoodle, Charlie is sweet and extremely intelligent. He learned to come, sit, stay, give paw, and down in a matter of weeks. He is eager to learn and is a natural swimmer. He is so smart we should have named him Einstein! He has become a great addition to our family, and our Labradoodle Gracie.Charlie obviously came from a caring environment, which was evident from the first day. We got our labradoodle puppy, Elleanor, from Mike in mid-July 2021. We have adored having her in our lives! Mike has been so helpful and responsive since our phone interview months before we got Elleanor to even now! Elleanor is super sweet, kind, and well tempered. Mike truly cares about all of his dogs and their pups. He ensures that when you pick your pup up you are set-up for success. I’d absolutely recommend Mike to anyone looking to add a labradoodle to the family! We brought our baby Ripley home early this summer and are in love. Mike was very transparent and communicative throughout the entire process. We had a phone call to discuss the adoption process, and received very helpful educational material right away to help us best prep for Ripley. He set us up for success with everything from advice on recommended food to probiotics for sensitive puppy tummies. We got to visit and “meet the parents”, and see Ripley a few weeks before we brought her home. Mike truly cares about his dogs which was extremely important to us - we didn’t want to adopt from someone who simply churned out puppies. It’s clear he loves his dogs and makes sure his pups go to loving homes.
